The trip in Paris started with a tour on Seine River, passing some famous tourist attractions. The ride was about an hour, and rain started falling after a while, so we had to hide inside and didn't fully enjoy the tour (curse you, weather!)
Nonetheless, I saw buildings I've always wanted to see. Paris is one of the must-go cities on my list. I'm glad we finally get to stay a little longer this time (2 days, lol)
Paris is the capital of France, and everyone should know. Paris is full of history, and many famous people, past or present, came from Paris. Paris has many famous spots including Eiffel Tower, Arch of Triumph, Louvre, and many others. Alright,
go read it yourself. I'm really not good at doing this. I'll just share the pictures.

In the boat. Pretty spacious. |
There was a story about this bridge. It was designed and supposed paid by Russia, and every requirement was desired by Russia. However, at the end of the construction, Russia refused to pay. Still, this is a beautiful bridge. There were many couples shooting wedding pictures, despite the bad weather.
I think this one is Louvre. |
Statue of Liberty, in Paris. |
Proof. It's a mini version. |
Later, we went to some of the places mentioned above. First was the bridge.
The ground is wet, so what? As long as they are happy. |
Another one. |
It's only some of the examples. There are actually more. It's such a popular spot. Next is the Invalides. For France, Napoleon covers the majority of modern French history. He and the three last kings of France are mentioned almost everywhere. When Napoleon was dominating, he was the face of France, and he did many controversial things (including the crowning of himself.) After he finally lost, he got captured, but later escaped. He came back to France and told the government "give me the army, I will take back the glory of France once again like I did before." Unfortunately, he lost and got captured by the British. The Brits later announced the death of Napoleon. They returned the coffin to France but said that they should not open the coffin as the body will
decompose. Since the coffin is completely sealed and not see-through, the French were so eager to open it because, you know, what if the Brits lied to them?
"HAHA! Look at those stupid French. We just gave them an empty coffin and they were so scared to open it. Bunch of cowards!"
Not wanting this to happen, the French eventually opened the coffin, and Napoleon was indeed in it. Soon after, the body decomposed. After that, they put the remain of the his body in Invalides.
The death of Napoleon brings many discussions about conspiracy. The Brits said he died of natural cause, but some reports claimed that he got poisoned by arsenic. The truth will never unfold, I think, as Brits will never admit that no matter what evidence French show. Well, history is history, so let's move own.

The Invalides |
We finally got to Eiffel Tower at the end. The tower......well, is a tower. There was a joke about this tower. Someone said that Paris is full of artsy feeling, except this one tower. Why? Because everything else has different looks when you look at them from different angles. However, for this tower, no matter where you look from, it's always gonna be a tower. Well, tower or not, it's a landmark, and it's fun to be able to visit.
Eiffel Tower |
Underneath the tower. There are elevators taking you up to top. |
We moved onto dinner after visiting the tower, and I saw some other things.
I think this is built for one of the World Expo's |
This is everywhere in France...... but that was a good trip!!! |
And it's dinner time. We found this French restaurant that serves those stereotypical French cuisines, course after course. Is this expensive? Well, not to the point you can't afford. 65 euros for this meal is not bad.
The restaurant. It's located not too far from Champs Elysees |
This is the appetizer. Seafood sampler--4 servings. The crab was delicious! |
Foie gras. Rich and flavorful. It melts in your mouth. With a piece of baguette and caramelized Tangerine jam. |
Fried fish ball in lobster sauce. There were fish bones in the ball though...... kinda killed it....... |
Seared duck leg with pan fried potatoes and some salad. Duck was cooked perfectly. |
The other entree that I didn't get (I got duck) Didn't try any. |
Chocolate and vanilla ice cream with some cookie. Can someone tell me what the name for this cookie is? Really interested in making it. |
Then we went back to hotel and ended the night. The climax would be the next day. Louvre, Versailles, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dome, and the arch. Stay tuned!
